Remember that borderless print over sizes the image about 10% beyond the edges and over sprays ink all over the platen sponges.For every printing need, there is a specific type of paper that will suit the job perfectly. So imposing a 1/4 inch or less all around border insures that the image will relatively well centered as you look at the folded card. Even if you were able to print borderless I doubt your printer ( actually any printer ) would be able to perfectly please the edge of the image exactly on the fold 100% of the time! It simply can not! I always put borders on my card's photo faces.
Yup! Borderless only works on "Standard" paper sizes and not on user defined sizes. Guess this is just another user error and not a fundamental problem. Which actually is pretty weired because i had expected just the opposite. When i select the closest build in format 4圆in i always get a wide border left and right. Like I said, the front feed works for all you standard sizes and you simply can not user defined sizes.ĭid a test and agree it is close enough and i am pleased with the result.īut as usual one problem gets solved and another shows upįor some reason when i set a custom format of 4.0x5.9in i can not print borderless. I get perfect results far exceeding what I would ask for in a postcard. So ART papers get Matte or Exhibition Matte as the choice. I also print my 5" x 9"card stock from the top using a similar paper choice matching the surface. That is the only way you can see if there are any visible differences between the two paper choices. Try it and do a direct comparison against one using the "Correct" paper type even though you can not use the actual paper size. Just tell it that it is a letter sized paper. Right it will not be IDENTICAL but it will not be that much different. If i am right - would it make sense to change the settings in the paper configuration - especially for ink and drying time ? Just a side question: would the selection of Matte paper (beside some minor parameters) not also influence the amount of ink put on the paper ? Would expect if the amount is not right the result is different. Will make a test with Matte paper setting Just use one of the Matte paper choices and if you are finicky print through the ICC profile for that paper which you can get from them. Those feeds have a minimal size limitation and don't allow to feed the 4x5.9in cards.įor me this paper is not thicker than other paper i feed from top.ĭoes anybody had this problem and found a solution (beside using another printer or print on large paper). When i set - as recommended by Hahnemühle - the paper to Velvet Fine Art Paper i am forced to use the front or rear feed. Maybe it is a strange combination of search terms so it brings up more marketing sites than anything else.Ĭouple of weeks ago i bought a box with Photo Cards from Hahnemühle (Photo Rag 308 gsm ).
